The Story -

My Green Eyes is a contemporary Prodigal Son story. Set on an American family farm, the two brothers are in conflict. The older one, Jacob, is committed to the success of the farm while Luke has no interest in farming and dreams of leaving home to become a rock star. His longing intensifies when their mother, Sophia, dies of cancer. Heartbroken and determined, Luke demands his inheritance and sets out to pursue his dream. Back on the farm, his father, John, is tormented with the belief that pesticides have caused Sophia's death. With the help of an Ag Extension worker named Veronica, he converts to organic farming practices which are more environmentally-friendly.  During this time both brothers are attracted to Veronica who is torn between memories of a youthful fling with Luke and her kindling love for Jacob.  Luke, pre-occupied with seeking stardom for his rock band, finds that wild living proves destructive and empty. Ultimately he returns home, hoping to find forgiveness and to take his rightful place in the family.
